A Weekend with Just My Boys

IMG_0006

Carissa, Nathan, and I were enjoying breakfast a week before Carissa went on her adventure with her grandma to see her auntie, uncle, and 2 cousins in Co I was asking her if she was excited to go on a plane and see Travis….to my surprise Nate dogg jumped out of his seat yelling “Tavis Tavis airplane see Tavis, Deck”. Carissa very gently corrected him telling him, “No Nathan, Carissa is going on an airplane to see Travis.” At that moment Nathan stopped smiling sighed a long sigh and while bowing his whole body in disapproval released a very disappointed awwww…..! It was one of the cutest things he has ever done and really reflected the love he has for his cousins despite the little time they have had with one another. David and I had already planned to treat Nathan with a weekend to have us to himself but because of this adorable expression we treated him to a full weekend of fun. Sat after saying goodbye to sister we headed to the LA Zoo (and don’t worry we got a year pass so we can take Carissa soon). His most anticipated animals to see were the lions and Giraffes a boy after his mommy’s heart. Those are my favorite too! David and I had a blast running after our total boy while also getting some much needed adult talk time. The afternoon ended with a relaxing tram ride that put Nathan out and time for us to shop for his special gift (a stuffed Lion). Then to my knowledge we were headed home for the day………however David had plans of his own but that is for another blog until then enjoy the great memories we shared with our temporary only child ;-)

  1. love the pics. One day you seriously need to make your way out here and go see our giraffes in the wild. Niger has one of the last in the wild sanctuaries and we go out and find them and picnic and walk quietly among them for hours. So amazing. I love giraffes too!

  2. I would absolutely love to visit you. At the zoo that is exactly what I was telling David that your pictures were so amazing and how close you got to be among the gentle giants!

  3. We'll make it up to Nathan when he comes to visit us in the summer. Glad he was the king of the castle for the weekend!
